As a general rule, I plan to have numerous motivational quotes posted around my room. A student may not seem bothered, but a kind word, even if just read, can make a difference in their day. It always worked for me. This quote specifically, special education students live a challege, and from observing my dad's class, some of them are quick to give up. I can remind students of this quote and hope that they can see life in a new manner.
What does "makes life meaningful" look like or mean to a child with special needs who is 7 years old? 10 years old? 16 years old? What challenges do they face that they would find "interesting" rather than frustrating? What challenges have you faced in your life time that you can now say are "interesting." How did they make your life more meaningful?
