Richmond
The one thing I have missed about Richmond is everyone's accents. Being from Northern Kentucky you don't hear that many. When my parent's were helping me move in to my apartment my dad had to go to Lowes to pick up some supplies. He came back and told me that he had the hardest time understanding what this guy was telling him. I just shook my head and laughed and couldn't believe how much I had missed this place. It's fun to go home after being here for a couple months because my friends back home say I come back with a slight twang.

That's funny, because Im from London which is about 45 minutes south of Richmond. My freshman year there were a lot of ppl from Ohio in my dorm and they couldnt not understand anything Me and my roomate said,it was like we were speaking spanish or somthing.
ReplyDeleteI am from Cincinnati and the accents are not the only thing I miss when I go back home. You would probably get beaten up in Cincinnati for wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots (unless you are at a Rascal Flats concert or something). Another thing that cracks me up are all the pick up trucks! I never see so many when I go home, but when I am here they are everywhere! I always see tons of really old, dirty, beaten up ones. My first day back in Richmond this year I got off the highway and passed an old man in his little blue beat up pick up truck wearing no shirt, a cowboy hat, and he had a cigar in his mouth. It was great. There was no doubt that I was back in good old Richmond.
