Chapter 2 reading

Oaky....
either I'm really stupid or chapter 2 is a hard read. I've actually read it twice and I still can't grasp the phonology and morphology. Is anyone else struggling with this material?? :(

Mrs. White I may need some one on one assistance. LOL

  1. It sort of confused me too! But do not feel stupid! I think it is just new material to us and we will have to see more of it in order to fully grasp it. I am positive we will have a much better understanding of the material when we discuss it in class! Don't get discouraged! :)

  2. Oh, and it does help to take notes on your own paper or maybe even to highlight the main points in the text book!

  4. I am confident you will all understand it by the end of our classes this week. Also, the resource materials on Blackboard in the Weekly Resource section will help you TREMENDOUSLY (I believe - which is why I put them there) if you'll just go click on the links. It won't take a lot of extra time. Often times reading the same content in a different format with different examples will provide a different perspective that can help tremendously!

I will be more than happy to meet with anyone in small groups or one-on-one who would like additional work with this material. It is the basis for most of what we will be learning throughout the semester. So, it is key that you grasp it. It may take a few weeks to get a deep understanding and can apply it in multiple ways. But, I am convinced you WILL understand it well.
