Intro
Hello everyone! My name is Dana Greene and I am finally FINALLY a senior and should graduate in May. I switched majors from Special Ed LBD to Deaf/Hard of Hearing. I plan to go on and get my Master's in special education LBD. I have a 3 almost 4 year old daughter at home and I commute back and forth from Lexington. I have been a paraeducator in the school system in Fayette County for a few years. I used to work full time in a special ed classroom which led me to wanting to teach special ed. I worked at a Therapeutic Recreation camp for children with needs and it was a great learning experience. Mrs. White I think you're pretty damn funny and this class should be interesting!

So I feel really stupid asking this but I have never blogged before and I don't know how to post something. Can you please tell me what to do?
ReplyDeleteHi Erin,
ReplyDeleteIf you look in the top right corner you should see a link that says, New Post. Click on it and VOILA! You, too, can create your own post!

Hey Dana, I learned a long time ago that laughter makes life so much more fun! We all need to laugh more and we have to learn to laugh - even at ourselves. I do hope we will laugh a lot in this class. If it gets to heavy one night - remind me to lighten up. Well...look at my eyes. YOu'll know if the timing is right to tell me to lighten up or to realize, "the right thing, at the wrong time, is the wrong thing!" lol
ReplyDeleteBy the way - did you want to tell me something tonight or were you making a point when you were waving your hand, drying your nails?
What's your daughter's name?
Ha Ha yes I think I will be able to tell when I can say things like that and when not to. Yes I was just making a point when I was waving my hand at you. I am taking ASL 202 and we are learning more about what's appropriate in the deaf community and what's not. Waving at someone to get their attention is good to do as I am sure you know all that already. Moving on..my daughter's name is Denise and she is my motivation for everything! I got so excited yesterday because she spelled her name for me!!! I love being a mother! Um you live in Lexington right? Did one of your son's go to Dunbar? The one that you were talking about earlier today?
ReplyDeleteMrs White! I fully agree with you that laughter is vital to life! Laughter gives a person character, like me I laugh at the silliest things EVER, things no one else would ever think is funny unless they are my soul mate! lol My grandfather passed away this past March, yes it was devistating but our family coped by laughing about funny memories of him and thats how I want to remember him today. I feel to really live you must know how to laugh because life is so much better that way.

Yes, ma'am, Ms. Dana. My stepson, Sekoe, graduated from Dunbar in 2004. He played basketball for Coach Oakley and the Bulldogs for two years. Did you go to Dunbar? My stepson who is older than me ;) graduated from Henry Clay. There are more children in between and one younger. I'm a blessed woman!
ReplyDeleteSpelling her name to little Miss Denise flying off to foreign countries and leaving you behind. You'll be so proud but wonder where the time has gone.
Leslie, we NEED to laugh and our Grandpas knew that perhaps better than we do today. I'm certain their memories will bring us joy for years to come!
