Tid Bits

On Sundays I work in a church nursery and one of the little girls, who is now two and half asked me "Why is Andrew's name Andrew?" To this I had no answer. I was surprised, though coming from her I should have expected such a question. She is probably the most curious little girl I have ever met and she loves talking and telling stories. One day while babysiting she was telling me about the classes her big sister was in. She said that she, herself, did not like science or math, and I asked her what she did like and she replied with "books, books are my friend, I love them!" and she smiled. It was so precious.
Last Thursday, one of my friends who is studying ASL invited me out bowling with some of her friends who are also learning. I was hesitant because I do not know the language but I went because she didnt want to go alone. I never realized how much one can learn when they are literally forced to. On a funny note: I asked my friend to hold my bowling shoes so I could get my money and she said "now i cannot talk." To her friends she was silenced for a moment, and I never really realized how difficult that could be. Unable to work and speak at the same time.
