I want to thank each of you for your well wishes and prayers for my husband. He had an appointment with the oncologist today. It has been determined that the current medicine has ceased being effective in controlling his cancer. However, no one is giving up and we all continue to fight. The doctor is prescribing a new drug called, sorafenib or Nexavar. Virgil is still at the VA in the pallatiave care program. Hopefully, he will regain his strength day by day and be returning home SOON.
We will focus on LIVING not dying and enjoy each day as a GIFT from God.
We remain with our feet firmly planted in reality and our hope in an Almighty God.

You are a very strong person, and your husband sounds like he is a fighter. When my papaw died of cancer it was really hard, I tried to understand but I couldnt, I know now he is in a better place and not in pain but you and your husband are on our prayer list at church. I hope everything gets better for you.
ReplyDeleteMrs White,
ReplyDeleteDo not ever give up hope. Remember life is not within the hands of the doctors or the hospital life is truly witheld by the hands of god. Only god can determine a person's fate and destiny in which he or she will live or die. I wish you, your husband and your overall family all of the luck in the world. You are in my prayers.
im very glad to hear he is doing better. y'alls picure on facebook was very cute =).

Mrs. White,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see that you and your family are not losing faith! You and your family are in my prayers! I would like to share with you a song that is very touching. A southern gospel group called The Whisnants came to my church this morning, and this song touched my heart. You can get the lyrics from this site:

The song is called, "Be Not Afraid!"
Mrs. White,
ReplyDeleteI can tell that you are one of the strongest teachers and person that I have ever had or met in my life. I am so glad that you all continue to have faith and I do know there is a God. You and your family are still in my prayers.
