I want to apologize to the class today for the way that I over reacted to the side bar conversation and laughter in the small group in the front. I demonstrated the EXACT OPPOSITE way a teacher should handle such a situation. There may be many reasons why I over reacted today and made the comments I did. Regardless there is no excuse for the heightened emotion or the detailed reaction. I am a professional and should be in control of my emotions. I have sent personal emails but wanted to also apologize to the class. I truly want to be a good instructor and help each of you learn to your fullest potential. I am not perfect and even under the best of circumstances and situations we all make mistakes. I sincerely pray none such as this will happen again.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Mrs White,
ReplyDeleteI'am truly sorry about the conditions of your loved one, I was very saddened to hear of that situation. The incident today in class was very intense, but I know the class will regard it considering the emotional trauma you are experiencing at this time in your life. You sincerely are a great instructor and I have learned so much from you already, the examples you gave today on the board was a great help to me! I feel that you are a very strong individual taking into account the personal situation that you have been faced with and coming into class and caring so much for your students to teach them under the circumstances, and I thank you so much for that, I strongly appreciate you as an instructor. Have the best labor day weekend you possibly can, and let time heal your pain. My family will be praying for you and your family as well.
Mrs. White,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your husband. I can notice in class that your walk with God is what guides you through life. I am happy that I can walk into class and know that I share this in common with you. Something that I always remember is that God never sends you something your way that you can't handle. You have taught me so much already in your class and I am excited to see what else I am able learn. I will be praying for you and your family. Be safe this Labor day weekend!
Leslie & Anna, I deeply appreciate your responses. I've nearly made myself sick since class and even cried to one of my students from last semester who called tonight.
ReplyDeleteNo one learns well in an intense environment and I do not want that for our class. Anna you mentioned my faith. It is what provides my strength and my direction each day. The great thing about God is GRACE! (Maybe why I also gave students additional days on August blog) and removes our "mistakes" as far as the east is from the west!
So...I'm looking forward to next Wednesday and a great fun-filled class with lots of phonemic learning as well as how speech is produced.
See you then!

Mrs. White,
ReplyDeleteI too am sorry to hear about your husband. I know this is a stressful time for your family. God will make a way, where there is no way. This is a verse that helped me cope in times of stress.
" Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
I will be praying for your family.
Mrs. White,
ReplyDeleteVery few can understand the pain that you are in. I have lost many loved ones (my grandfather) to cancer- It is not a pleasant experience. How ever I have to say that you told us how passionate that you are over this field. And that is a quality that I truly admire. I want to say May God Bless you and your family and if you ever need an ear- I am available.
