I am blessed and I want to move to China
I brought home to international students with me for Thanksgiving. They are from China! It has been so amazing. It is like a total culture shock for them! They have never had turkey, muffins, pancakes, stuffing, pie, and much more. They don't celebrate Christmas in China, so they hadn't put up a Christmas tree until last night. They are teaching me to speak and write Chinese. Tonight they taught me Hello, my name is Whitney, I am tired, and I am happy. It is so hard because one word could mean four different things if you say it in a different pitch. Writing has been almost impossible for me, but I am working on it! I don't know how they speak english and chinese so well! They make me want to move to China, but a visit will do for now! I hope everyone is having a wonderful break:) See you Monday.

It is so fun as well as educational to learn about different cultures as well as share ours with others. So neat you had the opportunity to share your family and traditions over the holiday.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like an exciting thanksgiving, and that was nice of you to invite them to your thanksgiving. I think everybody needs to be with somebody on a day like that. I bet it was great watching them decorate the tree for the first time too!
ReplyDeleteI have a close friend who's "cousin" is from China. He's great! He cooked real Chinese food for us the day after Thanksgiving and it was so good; nothing like the Chinese restaraunts here. I could handle a visit, but i don't think I could ever leave the U.S. for more than a week or so.
