Language project

Do we need to cover MLU if doing the Pragmatics section of the project? After we transcribe our language projects how long do you want part 2 to be?

  1. Length is not the issue. The ACCURACY and or QUALITY of the content is the issue. Feel free to ask specific questions about specific parts as to necesssary content.

  2. My aunt did a question and answer survey with my cousin and I was wondering If I could use that in my language project?

  3. I was wondering the same thing. I have a sample that I would like to use, but I wasn't the one in the conversation. Is that an issue?

  4. The language sample is supposed to be a collection of the child's natural language. A question/answer session does not demonstrate a child's natural language. The child's language is totally directed/controlled by the adult's questions.

You don't have to be in the conversation. It could be two children playing together or a conversation between a child and their parent. The key is, is it a natural occurrence of the child's language.
