Thanksgiving
In 2006 my husband was deployed during Thanksgiving. I stayed at Camp Lejeune,NC to go to school. I was too scared to drive over 700 miles home, so I decided to stay there for Thanksgiving. I had a friend from Florida that stayed also. We both were really depressed about our husbands being away and not being with our families. So we decided to "get over it" by working at the U.S.O.(United Service Organizations) on Thanksgiving. I will never forget that feeling. There was so many young men and women in line to get food. I thought I was so alone, but really there were people all around me feeling the same way I did. I will always remember this on Thanksgiving. So as you gather with your family this Thanksgiving remember our service men and women and their families.
